I’ve been going to Diana for 1.5 years, mainly for a cut and root touch up. She never disappoints! She’s very detailed and listens to what you want, but also grounds you with reality given your hair type. When I first wanted to do full color, I had an idea of what I wanted and brought inspo pics to her. She was super helpful in helping me find a color that actually worked for my skintone and I ended up loving it. So much so that I’ve kept the same color since then. I’ve gotten so many compliments on my cut and color ever since switching to Diana. On top of being amazing at what she does, she’s also so sweet and easy to talk to. Diana started cutting my hair in 2009 when I worked at Stanford University. I was ready for an upgrade in the hair department so I looked at some reviews and found Diana at a nearby salon in Palo Alto. We hit it off immediately.

She is super talented and creative, fun to be around and a really wonderful person. I get to see her once a month and I always look forward to a relaxing and fun experience and of course an awesome haircut. Her space is bright and welcoming and she is always in a great mood when I arrive. :)

It's been 15 years and I'm living in San Francisco now. If I lived in San Diego I'd still commute up to see her.

I’ve been trying to find a hairstylist to learn and grow from while experimenting with coloring on my hair, so I’m super appreciative that I can have Diana work her magic. Love getting my haircuts from Diana! I wanted something low maintenance with movement and lightness for my first haircut in two years and it was perfect for traveling pre-pandemic. I had my second haircut recently and it felt like seeing an old friend! We caught up and laughed as she gave me my last hairstyle (it grew out so nicely, so I wanted the same easily maintained layers) but with something new: bangs. 😊

She did amazing! I love how she was as excited as I was for the change. My loved ones also liked the cut and I can’t wait to see Diana again to maintain my hairstyle. I don’t do regular haircuts, so this is big for me.

If you’re worried about getting a haircut due to COVID, Diana is the stylist to see. Her client protocol (text when outside, mask, hand sanitizer, etc.) made me feel safe. I also love that she has her own private studio space within Sola Salons. And, her studio is sooo clean and cute. I felt comfortable and I had a great time. I have a long standing and complicated hair history and all I can say is Diana was INCREDIBLE! As someone who had been previously blonde for 3 years (until the pandemic hit) and then had over 6 inches of growth due to not being able to get in the salon for awhile, my hair was definitely a challenge.

MY HAIR HISTORY:
I had been told by several past stylists that I had very difficult hair to lift as it is very dark and coarse (I’m Asian) and it was already pretty damaged from all the years prior it was bleached. As a temporary fix I had toned it myself brown in quarantine so that the black and blonde weren’t so stark.

THE HAIR RESULTS:
I came really not expecting much due to the condition of my hair (lots of precious bleaching) and asking her if we could do a touch up to all of my roots and asked if we could possibly go lighter. I also asked for something that would be lower maintenance so that i’m not having to visit the salon 5x a year. She FAR EXCEEDED my expectations!! Not only was she extremely thorough, but I achieved my desired lightness, my desired tone, AND my hair was honestly healthier than when I walked into the salon. I was shocked! I’ve never seen my hair this light but still feel so thick and full and healthy. I was so blown away, I’ve always had to sacrifice health for color or color for health. Not with Diana, I achieved my hair goals ❤️ I’ve already gotten tons of compliments 💁🏻‍♀️

THE EXPERIENCE:
During the entire process she was extremely professional but also so fun to chat with, she made the time pass by so quick! Because of my hair history she consistently checked my foils to make sure my hair wasn’t damaged, and did I mention how cute her salon is? If you’ve ever had your hair bleached you’ve probably been in the salon in an uncomfortable for hours like me, but she really invests back into her business by using great products on your hair and she had the most comfortable chair for the sink that I’ve ever sat in! It automatically slides forward for comfortable hair washing positioning and the sink was extremely gentle on my neck and did not hurt whatsoever.

Overall I give Diana an 11/10 and highly recommend her if you’re looking for a high stylist that will help you achieve your hair goals while also maintaining your hair health!
