How the consultation works
A Color Consultation at Diana Antes Studio is a focused 15-minute appointment that costs $50. During this time your stylist reviews your hair history, examines skin tone and facial features, and asks about lifestyle needs and maintenance preferences. The goal is to define a realistic shade range and set expectations before any color service begins.
From that initial review we outline personalized options and explain the trade-offs between different shades and upkeep levels. You’ll receive clear recommendations on tones that flatter your coloring and fit your routine, plus a simple plan for next steps so you can decide with confidence without committing to a full color service immediately.
Factors that shape results
Color outcomes are guided by natural skin tone, eye color, existing hair pigment, and previous chemical history. Each of these factors constrains the shades that will look natural and last well; lighter or more dramatic changes typically require greater maintenance. We discuss how these trade-offs affect the final look so you can balance style with realistic upkeep.
Local lifestyle and environment also matter: Sunnyvale’s Mediterranean climate and a commuter-oriented routine influence color choices and maintenance scheduling. We consider your workday, evening commitments and how often you can realistically come in for touch-ups when recommending a palette that suits both appearance and calendar.
Visualizing outcomes and timing
During the consultation we use visual tools—color swatches and digital mockups—to help you see likely results and compare tones side by side. These visualizations make it easier to choose within a recommended range and to understand how light, contrast, and your features will interact with each shade without immediately changing your hair.
Seasonally, many clients plan color shifts in March, April, September, and October to move into summer blondes or richer fall tones; those months are busiest for pre-planning. If you have an upcoming event near Levi’s Stadium or a big meeting at Moffett Park, we’ll factor timing so color work fits your schedule and travel along US 101 or SR 237.
